Subject: Next Shakespeare Workshop: Saturday, October 19th
Thanks to those who joined the workshop on Saturday. The next session will be on October 19th, from 1 to 5 p.m. We will pick up where we left off so don’t forget what you worked on. If you know which part you are playing, start learning your lines. Group leaders (Andrew S., Paul T., and Emma) should think about what they want to add to their scenes next time, especially in terms of activities, props, costumes, and general staging. Real activities and props are critical.
If you missed the first session, we can add you in during the second. See my previous email for a PDF of the scene we are working on (a shortened version of Act 1, Scene 2 from The Tempest).

Subject: Shakespeare Workshop on Saturday, September 28th
Dear Youth Shakespeare company members,
I am holding the first of a series of workshops at Houge Park on Saturday, September 28th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. This workshop is open to all current members of the company but is not open to alumni or potential new members. The age range of the participants is 9 years old to 21.
Subsequent workshops will be scheduled during the remaining months of the year (one per month), leading up to initial readings for next year’s shows. Our next Shakespeare production will be The Tempest, with performances at Hoover during the week of April 21st to 27th.
Attendance at the workshops is optional but may influence casting decisions for next year. This first workshop requires no preparation. We will do some exercises that follow on from the recent work with Scott Handy, read/perform some short scenes, and socialize :-).
I look forward to seeing you there. (And don’t forget about the dance, scheduled for that evening.)
